Sure way to gain Provision!!!! … Part 4

This far we have learned that being pious, repenting and seeking forgiveness of our Lord are the great means of gaining in our Provision from our Lord… In this part we will learn the meaning of Reliance on Allah Almighty and the manner appropriate to put our trust and faith in Allah Almighty to seek the fruit of the blessed provision!!!! As, Allah the Exalted says in the Holy Quran: “And He will provide him from (sources) he never could imagine. And whosoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him. Verily, Allah will accomplish his purpose. Indeed Allah has set a measure for all things.” Surat At-Talaq – 3 He whose heart hopes in Allah alone in bringing benefit or preventing harm, and puts his trust fully in Allah then indeed, Allah will suffice him, relieve him from all grief and provide him from sources which others are deprived of. ‘Umar said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘If you were to rely upon Allah with the reliance He is due, you would be given provision like the birds: They go out hungry in the morning and come back with full bellies in the evening.”

Sunan Ibn Majah » Book of Zuhd Jami` at-Tirmidhi » Book of Zuhd » Chapter: About Reliance Upon Allah

The above prophetic narration is a fundamental and basic aspect of the reliance upon Allah and one of the greatest reasons for gaining in the provision. As, some of the pious predecessors have said: “If you rely on Allah, provision will come to you without any effort”. Reliance on Allah is to express ones inherent incapacity, complete and inclusive dependence on Allah alone, along with the certainty that Allah alone has control over the universe and that the affairs of all creation are under His will. It is He alone Who provides, creates, grants and deprives from bounties, benefits, afflicts, gives wealth, causes poverty, health, sickness, life and death. Reliance on Allah does not entail abandoning the utilization of worldly means, because Allah has commanded us to utilize all possible means along with relying on Him. Physically striving to utilize all worldly means is in fact an act of obedience to Allah, and reliance on Him with ones heart reflects his belief in Him. Allah says: “Then when the (Jumu’ah) Salat (prayer) is finished, you may disperse through the land, and seek the Bounty of Allah (by working, etc.), and remember Allah much, that you may be successful.” Surat Al-Jumu`ah – 10 A muslim is required to utilize all means but without relying on them for the results. Instead, he should firmly believe that the matter is completely with Allah, and that He alone is the Provider.         دار الوطن
